Uni CIPR conducts applied research into increased oil exploitation and secure CO2 storage.

Uni CIPR’s strength is integration of traditional research areas in cross discipline cooperation. The Centre is keeping focus on theoretical and experimental research, within the following objectives:

• Improved understanding of multiphase flow phenomena in porous media
• Developing faster and more reliable reservoir models, with emphasis on heterogeneous reservoirs
• Contribute to increased oil recovery by improved understanding of oil recovery mechanisms
• Developing improved methods for safe CO2 storage.

• Geosciences
• Reservoir simulation

Uni CIPR consists of an international research group with more than 100 researchers and PhDs from all over the world. CIPR also supervise more than 40 master grade students in cooperation with UiB.
